Renee Caldwell, aka “Sweet Nay” is a professional singer, songwriter, and entertainer who is passionate about sharing her gift and love for music. A native of Shreveport, Sweet Nay has performed in various arenas, some of which include church and community theater productions, casino shows, festivals, and local clubs to name a few. Sweet Nay’s credits include working with Grammy-nominated guitarist, Ron Johnson of La Jazz Records, penning 6 of the 10 tracks on his new artist, Monro Brown’s, project. She had the opportunity to write for Carl Sims of CDS Records to write for his project, “Hell on My Hands”, which has been a successful chart-topper on the blues circuit. Some of Sweet Nay’s performances that are more recent have been with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s Christmas in the Sky Jazz in the Park, Dancing for the Cure in which she has emceed as the hilarious self-made character “Lady Pink-A-Dink”, Mardi Gras Dinner and Auction in Malden, Missouri, as well as, many other events.
In years past Sweet Nay was presented with the City of Shreveport Artist Fellowship Award from the City of Shreveport. Sweet Nay also earned a feature in a Lifetime movie entitled, “Not like Anyone Else.” And most recently in two independent efforts Sabotage or Surrender and the web series SYID. Currently, Sweet Nay is preparing to release her first complete album “It’s A Party” for which she is the executive producer and songwriter. Whether serving as emcee or jamming out, Sweet Nay consistently delivers an energetic and infectious performance that leaves her audiences wowed wanting more. Sweet Nay is STAGE ready and STAYS ready to deliver high energy and great music – Rock, Pop, R&B, Blues, Reggae, Southern Soul or whatever genre an occasion may call for ENTERTAINMENT IS WHAT SWEET NAY CONSISTENTLY BRINGS.
